DEETH, NV โ€” The Elko County Sheriff’s Office and Nevada State Police conducted a multi-agency SWAT operation in Deeth on Thursday evening, arresting John Falvey on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Falvey was taken into custody without further incident.

  • The Charge: Falvey was arrested on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. It is not his first contact with Elko County courts on registration-related charges โ€” he was convicted of the same offense in October 2018.
  • The Operation: Deputies and troopers deployed a distraction device during the warrant service before taking Falvey into custody.
  • The Agencies: The Elko County Sheriff’s Office led the operation with support from the Nevada State Police.
  • The Location: Deeth is a small unincorporated community in northeastern Elko County along the I-80 corridor, roughly 30 miles east of Wells.
